Making Bold,
Responsible AI Innovation Happen
Ramaa Sharma
I help leaders imagine bold AI visions and implement them in ways that work for their team, their organisations, and for public good.
I have spent twenty years working at the intersection of technology and public interest journalism, leading digital transformation at BBC News, and more recently researching and prototyping ethical, responsible AI innovation. My work has been published through Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, where I am also a member of faculty.

“Visionary leader, able to sense media and societal trends before others, understanding their impact and the strategies needed to take them on. She is able to articulate and persuade senior management of the need and way to change, and deliver journalism programmes that appeal both to business strategy and human heart.”
Jonathan Hill, Editor BBC
“Ramaa is a natural born driver of change. She does this with a great deal of tact and includes everyone in the process.”
Lina Rozovskaya , BBC
“Ramaa Sharma delivered an inspiring and highly insightful guest lecture at our AI Scout training day.
Her ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear, practical guidance resonated deeply with our participants. She brought a unique blend of expertise, storytelling, and strategic perspective that sparked meaningful discussions. Ramaa’s contribution significantly enriched our program and left our team motivated to push forward in our AI journey.”Thomas Bauer

Who I Work With

I also work with CEOs and Directors who want to drive this work directly and with executive education institutes supporting organisations
How I Help
1.Expertise grounded in practice, not theory
Most leaders aren’t short of ideas but time and they can struggle to turn them into something boards back in full and teams trust. I bring insights and methods from leading change inside one of the world’s most scrutinised public media organisations offering the expertise needed to bring people along with you.
2.Making sense of AI and turning it into decisions you can stand behind
The challenge is no longer awareness. It’s knowing what to act on, what to ignore, and how to move forward responsibly. I help leaders make sense of the complex landscape translating it into decisions they can stand behind and their teams can trust.
3.Applied research & prototyping so you can move with confidence
Most organisations can not afford to experiment for long periods of time and need tried and tested ideas to lead from. My work is grounded in original research and hands on prototyping. I find out and test what works in practice, so you can focus your time and resource on what matters most.
How We Work Together
You already know AI matters for your organisation. What you need is a way to move forward that your board will fund, your teams will trust, and your editorial standards will survive. This is how we do that.
I start this work where you are, at any point in this ongoing cycle. An approach inspired by leading digital transformation at the BBC, adapted for the age of AI.
